One of my favorite things about summer, especially here in Des Moines is the concerts - why Des Moines? well because of Nitefall on the River, it's by far one of my favorite venues to go to for live music. Nothing like packing a picnic and listening to some good tuneage. It also helps that both Matt Nathanson and Vanessa Carlton said the place reminded them of being in Paris along the Seine... and we all know how much of a sucker I am for Paris. Where's your favorite venue? I still need to get to a concert at Redrocks in Colorado, I heard it's amazing there. And I'm so jealous that my friend Sharon always tends to go to Austin City Limits. And the other great thing about concerts? ... is the posters of course. I rarely buy them but I came across this site that has some exceptional gig posters. They all seem so vintage-looking to me and tend to have the feel of letterpress. Makes me look forward to the possibilites Minnie has to offer (Minnie = my gigantor letterpress).
